Frequently Asked Questions
Who can give talks and present posters?
Undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows at institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area are eligible to present talks or posters.
Can I submit multiple abstracts?
You may be a junior author on multiple abstracts, but you can be first author/presenter on only one abstract. In most cases, the first author should also be the presenter.
Can I submit work that has been presented elsewhere? What about abstracts for work that is in progress?
You may submit material that has been presented elsewhere. You also may submit work that is currently in progress.
How does the abstract review process work?
The faculty organizers will review the abstracts. Attention will be given both to the abstract content, as well as the diversity of content across all talks. The number of talks is limited, but applicants who are not chosen to give a talk will be invited to present a poster.
When will I find out if my submission has been accepted?
You will be notified by March 15 as to whether you will be invited to give a talk or present a poster.
